The EN 1082 standard specifies the design requirements, penetration resistance, ergonomic features, straps, weight, material, marking and instructions for use of gloves and arm protectors (in metal mesh EN 1082-1 or with other material EN 1082-2).
The 1082-2 standard specifies the design requirements, cut resistance, penetration resistance and ergonomic properties of the gloves, arm guards and cut resistant protective sleeves made of different material than metal mesh and plastic or rigid metal and that guarantee inferior protection against cuts and stabs than the products specified in part 1 of the standard and the use of which is recommended for working activities in which the knife is not particularly sharp or is only used to cut far away from the hand and arm. Especially recommended when using hand knives in the meat, fish and crustacean processing industry; in slaughterhouses; in manual deboning of meat; in industrial catering.
