The EN 13034 standard specifies the requirements for protective clothing against type 6 and type PB [6] liquid chemical agents. This type of limited use and re-useable clothing provide partial body protection and therefore feature minimum protection requirements. Intended for use in cases of a potential exposure to a light spray, liquid aerosols or minimum amount of material against which a complete liquid permeation barrier (at the molecular level) is not required. Type 6 and PB[6] represent the lowest protection level in the range of protection against chemical agents, therefore these garments can be used when:
- The assessed chemical risk is low.
- A complete protection is not required.
- The wearers are capable of intervening promptly and with appropriate actions if their own clothing is contaminated.
