The EN 16471 standard specifies the minimum requirements for wildland fire fighting helmets protecting the upper head mainly against the effects of impact, penetration, heat, flame and burning embers. These devices, used by firefighters, have specific requirements respect to devices used for fires in buildings and other structures. These helmets protect against heat and flames, while absorbing shocks, if any.
