The EN 50321 standard specifies the requirements and tests for personal protective equipment such as insulating footwear and overboots protecting against electrocution during live work or in proximity of live parts of plants up to 36000 V AC or 25000 V DC. This PPE protects the user against electric shocks, preventing electricity from passing through the plantar arch.
Equipment designed and manufactured in compliance with this standard contributes to the safety of workers as long as they are used by qualified personnel, in compliance with the occupational safety methods and relative instructions for use.
Antistatic, electrical shock resistant and conductive footwear are not covered by this standard.
