The standard EN 50365 specifies electrically insulating helmets used for working live or close to live parts. These protect the wearer against electrocution and, used jointly with other insulating equipment, these helmets prevent the electrical current from going through the human body via the head.
Requirements:
Protection against alternating voltages not exceeding 1000 V in AC and 1500 V DC.
The insulating helmets must have no conductive components.
Vents (if any) must not allow accidental contact with live components.
